Hello, and thanks for your interest.  This site is run by Mark O'Neil.  I've been collecting since 1979, and joined the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA) in 1983 as member number 3939 (the current membership number is over 11000). 

Unlike others who run websites, I am a collector, not a dealer.  Many of the plates that you see on the website have been in my collection at one point or another, as I am constantly upgrading my state runs.  I don't rely on this site to keep the lights on, so my prices are usually much better than the other sites.  I hope you enjoy your visit, and my site either kindles or reinforces your interest in license plates.

Plate Depot was launched November 2004 and incorporated in the State of Illinois in July 2005.
